MARRAKECH DESERT TOUR 04 DAYS

01^st Day :  Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ounila Valley – Ouarzazate

Get picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8.30am in a private 4×4 vehicle, and depart for Ouarzazate passing through the High Atlas Mountains. On our way, we will see the port of Tizi N’Tichka, that. at 2,260m it is the highest point in our country. We will enjoy beautiful landscapes from the viewpoints along the way and we will make some stops to take photos of the Berber villages. Then we will take a small path that goes to Telouat Kasbah. After visiting the kasbah, you will have free time to enjoy a typical meal in the city. In the afternoon we will continue through the Ounila valley, where you can see small Berber villages and families living in adobe houses lost in the mountains, to reach the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah. (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous movies have been filmed in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penelope Cruz…etc. After visiting the kasbah we will go to Ouarzazate, also known as “The door of the desert”. Dinner at the hotel where we will spend the night.

02^nd Day :  Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert – Camel ride and night in the Berber tent

After breakfast we will leave for the Draa Valley, where you can see one of the longest rivers in Morocco. Along the way we make some stops to take photos and enjoy the view of the spectacular kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the way, as well as the beauties of the Draa Valley. You will have some free time to have lunch in Nkob or Alnif, and then after a two-hour drive, we will arrive at the wonderful dunes of Merzouga. “Desert Dusty Sand Dunes.” We will change our motorized transport for one of animal traction to go to the heart of the desert. When we arrive at the camp, we settle into the tents, which are tents made of camel hair, like the ones used by nomadic families. Dinner and night in the Berber tent under a beautiful starry sky.

03^rd Day : Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Erfoud Fossils – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

“Date with the sunrise” If you are in the middle of the desert, it is essential to get up early to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise you have ever seen on the top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. Then we return to Merzouga on the camels where a comforting breakfast awaits us. We leave the desert after breakfast to go to Rissani where we will visit the market (market days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), then we continue to Erfoud where we can visit the manufacturers of fossilized marble before starting our way to Touroug and Palm Groves of Tinjdad. An hour later we will arrive at one of the best places in the High Atlas, the Todra Gorges. The course of the river has carved out the cliff canyon and is very popular with climbers due to its beauty and high rock sides. Free time for lunch in this wonderful place. A walk through the gorges is highly recommended to better appreciate the beauty of the landscape. In the afternoon we continue to the Dades valley, also known as the valley of figs passing through Boumalne Dadés, we will stop at the “monkey legs”. Dinner and night in the Dadès gorges.

04^th Day : Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Palm Groves – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley from a strategic viewpoint in the mountains, from there we can appreciate the large number of kasbahs and the scenic characteristics of each one. Then we continue along a road point with different kasbahs of tourist interest. After a few stops to enjoy the “path of a thousand kasbahs”. The Valley of the Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura will arrive in Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of Glaoui or Marrakech pasha. And if you are interested, we can visit the film studios and the film museum. Free time for lunch in the city. In the afternoon we start our way back to Marrakech passing through the mountain pass of Tizi N’Tichka with some stops to take photos. Here we leave behind the lunar landscape to reach another view full of colors. We will arrive in Marrakech around 6 p.m., transfer to the hotel and end of our services.
